What a winter storm we’re currently finding our community in this February! This is some record breaking snowfall, with the news outlets reporting that Virginia Beach received up to 10.2 inches of snow!

As we deal with the impressive level of snow in the community, we recommend that everyone prioritize staying safe. This includes staying off the roads as much as possible, check road conditions if you must drive, wear layered clothing, and stay warm indoors. Some extra safety tips for staying warm indoors:

  • Never use a generator, grill, camp stove, or charcoal burning device inside your unit.
  • If you are using your fireplace to stay warm, make sure the flue is open so that the gasses can escape safely.
  • Grills and other open-flame cooking devices may not be used within 10 feet of a building per Virginia Beach fire code, and yes that includes the balconies!

As a final safety notice, please see the below linked YouTube video regarding running your air conditioning units during these cold temperatures with all the snow buildup.
